After two weeks in a volunteer house with 20 international volunteers, Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit offered me the perfect day of relaxation, before heading back to the United States. Hot shower, room service and a moment to regroup before the 20-hour flight. I only needed the room for about 7 or 8 hours. Aloft Bangkok is completely understanding. Also, in my volunteer group was a man who had decided to become a Monk. In the process, he had to give up all his possessions and became low on cash. He needed to renew his visa in Nepal but needed somewhere to stay in Bangkok before starting his journey by bus. I offered him my room. I checked in, signed all paperwork and left my card on file, in case of incidentals, and Aloft Bangkok allowed him to check out, which allowed me to complete my good deed.
