My First Airbnb Experience

I am not always the first onboard with change. When traveling I found myself in a routine of researching the closest Sheraton or Marriott locations, simply out of habit. The free night stays you receive from collecting so many points always made it difficult to try something different. Who doesn’t like free? However, I wanted something different for my return to southeast Asia.
I wanted some place that would help me mentally prepare for my yoga retreat. Somewhere where I could feel a plethora of good energy and not be surrounded by the hustle and bustle of tourist. So I did an online search of Bali Airbnb properties and started to compare prices. I was looking for a one bedroom with a bath plus a half. A full kitchen, living room and I thought a pool would be nice. I also wanted a location in the city so I wouldn’t be far if I decided to venture out.
I found a beautiful villa in the village of Umalas located within the providence of Kuta. The space gave me everything I wanted and more. It was perfect for me to spend a few days relaxing and basking in the culture before moving on to my yoga retreat. The security and wait staff were superb. My butler was a complete gentleman who was extremely kindhearted. All my meals were prepared from a menu we discussed each morning. When I decided to venture out after four days of sitting by my private lap pool, the owner Kay responded back to me immediately with my drivers information and the time he would be arriving.
This was my first experience with Airbnb, and Kay as well as her property set the bar extremely high! For the price and quality I am not sure I have ever experienced a better deal.
